In keeping with the traditions and culture of the ‘Sikh religion’ and the ‘Khalsa’, that all human beings should have a sound mind and a sound body, the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Pahariwala Gurdwara, GK-I and the Mata Gujri Society for Medical Aid and Research conceived the idea of opening and developing a Fitness Centre in the Mata Gujri Medical Centre.
The Fitness Centre was opened in 2006 and has a membership of over 100 members using the independent facility being monitored by a Trainer / Instructor.
The Centre is fully air-conditioned and is open Monday to Saturday in the morning from 7:00 to 11:00 AM and in the evening from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. It has a monthly membership fee of Rs.1300/-.
The Fitness Centre is well equipped with some of the latest machines including Tread Mills, Cross Trainers, Multi Gym, Leg Press, Leg Extension / Leg Curl Extension, Shoulder Press,
Flat Bench / Chest Press, Abdomen Bench, Vibrator, Free Weights etc. The Fitness Centre or the so called Gym has become very popular and is visited by both males and females.
